    Description

In 1999, the Royal Canadian Mint issued two different Specimen Sets.  This one features the newly issued Nunavut coin, which depicts a First Nations drummer and is really a very attractive coin!  Canada issues annual sets in a variety of finishes, including proof, uncirculated and this, the "specimen" set.  It had a slightly lower distribution than the regular 1999 Specimen Set (which featured the regular issue "Bear" coin), with only 45,104 having been issued.  At the time these sets were issued, the specimen coins featured an almost "antique" finish with mirrored images.  It gives the coins an almost "reverse proof" appearance and is really quite attractive.  Take a look at the photos above!  You will receive the set as issued by the RCM, including the outer printed cardboard box, the set itself, with green leatherette covers and the frame containing the coins and, finally, the certificate of authenticity.  All of these are pictured above!  As shown, all of the packaging is "like new" and the leatherette cover still carries the plastic cover sheet over the RCM seal.  Like new!  Please note that buyers with a Kansas shipping address will be charged Kansas Sales Tax on this item at checkout.
