S26 - Handmade Antique Silver Key Wind Chime Chandelier

Description

This whimsical wind chime "chandalier" features an old silver round warming dish server and strands and strands of old keys hanging from silver jack chain.
This large wind chime would be a gorgeous addition to any porch, solarium or yard.  It would also look just as beautiful in any room of the house.  A light kit could also be added to this chime to convert it to a unique lighting feature for your home or porch.
If hung inside, this chime would make a lovely sound if within the airflow of a ceiling fan.  Outside, the sound of the keys softly clinking together is very soothing.  When I have had these chimes at art shows, people can't resist walking up and running their hands through the strands.
This chime will be at its best hanging under an overhang or on a covered porch or solarium, where it is not out in constant weather conditions.
If it will be used out in the weather, I suggest that you purchase a clear gloss sealer and spray the entire piece at least once a year to protect it from rust (unless you like rust, like me!)
If you do get rust, I suggest purchasing Evapo-Rust from O'Reilly Automotive.  This environmentally safe solution easily dissolves rust and then the chime can be re-treated with the sealer to protect the metals from the elements going forward.
Note:
I made the first one of these very unique chimes for my son in the Air Force.  He actually hung his extra house key within the chime in case he forgot his key and got locked out (which did happen from time when he was young and new at living on his own!)
